t looks like the target Gaikindo (Indonesian Automotive Industry Association) to reach sales of one million cars this year will be achieved. The car you see here, the Mazda CX-5 Touring, seem to be good enough to contribute to the target, if seeing the interest granted by SUV lovers in the country.
PT Mazda Motor Indonesia (MMI) as the sole agent (APM) Mazda in Indonesia should be able to smile wide. In the past two months (June-July 2012), the CX-5 sold 270 units throughout Indonesia, when he was introduced in May 2012.
Mazda, prefer to call the CX-5 as a compact crossover SUV. Whatever it is, we see it as a rival compact SUVs that have been established in the country, such as the Honda CR-V or Nissan X-Trail. Mazda claimed that with this technology, the CX-5 engine could be 15% more efficient than other 2.0-liter engine which uses port fuel injection as a supplier. Moreover, generating 15% more torque (200 Nm at 6,000 rpm), and 15% lower emissions.
The machine was then paired with SKYACTIV transmissions called Drive which has a 6-speed and is claimed to help 4-7% fuel savings.
Suppliers power CVT and DCT models, could be an option but in the end decided that the transmission for the Mazda CX-5 is taken from the design of a conventional automatic transmission, with a sense of DCT (dual clutch transmission). As is known, the DCT has a character shift gears when driving fast, but less comfortable when you are at low speed or evasive in traffic jams.
Finally, Mazda combines the workings of a conventional automatic transmission with torque converter that rely on multi-plate clutch. Torque converter works well at low speed or when in stop and go traffic, but not for high speeds. Therefore, it will work when the car is at low speed, while the multi-plate clutch to be set at high speed gearshift.

Baggage CX-5 is classified as sufficient for an SUV. Referring to the data of Mazda, luggage capacity when the second line is used for 403 liters and can reach 1,570 liters when the second row recline. What is interesting is the folding function "Karakuri", where the second row can be flush with the floor of the trunk by pulling a lever on the left and right side trunk.
